This was not a roost but appeared to be be Monarchs just coming up from the the milk weed. Friends had told us there were hundreds there the night before but it looked like there were lots of Painted Ladies around and and Monarchs just now arriving. Quite a few of the Monarchs seemed quite small.
This park is set up in a circle with and open center and lots of trees around it. It was a perfect spot for them. South wind, , lake nearby, lots of food....
