Have 4 large balloon milkweed plants (gomphocarus physocarpus.) On 08/10/2023, I observed 10 monarch caterpillars on the milkweed. I cut the milkweed limb each Caterpillar was on and brought into my screened in porch. All the milkweed was placed in water and the cats ate. On 08/18/2023, 3 pupa were formed. 6 more were formed on 08/19/2023. One cat escaped my bucket. On 8/27/2023 6 butterflies emerged including the one that had escaped. It was deformed. On 8/28/2023 early A.M. the other 4 butterflies emerged. All 9 butterflies were released on 8/28/2023.
