Milkweed Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/29/2023

This area has a lot of milkweed earlier in the summer (May-July). Yesterday I just saw a few (3-5?) in this area (roadside). I couldn’t see any in the pasture, but taller plants have come up in the past few weeks, so if any are there, they’re hiding. (I have spotted monarchs nearby, but usually see buckeyes in this area in spring and fall, as well as variegated fritillaries, and eastern tiger/black/giant swallowtails in the buttonbushes closer to the pond to the north.)
