Milkweed Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/31/2023

The ACU pollinator gardens behind the Hunter Welcome Center contain some showy milkweed (Asclepius speciosa). They were planted as bare roots several years ago and have spread vegetatively. This milkweed rarely blooms and doesn’t like the heat, but we have some new growth that has occurred in the last month and those are where the eggs are found. The old growth is discolored and almost dried up.
