Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/02/2023

Number: 1

We haven't had many monarchs this year. So when I saw one in my garden late this afternoon I pulled out my phone for a photo. But I had trouble getting close enough. It flew away, then turned and flew right towards me, circled me a few times and then landed on my boot for a prolonged period.

Alas at the very same time coming down the hill to our house was a man in a pickup truck towing a tractor. They were coming to mow our fields, including lots of milkweed.

Maybe this is a bit woo-woo, but was I receiving a message? A plea? Or was it just a coincidence? It is a true story.
