Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers
Sightings report image

Date: 09/04/2023

Number: 3

Picture taken this Monday morning at 8:51 am. My three hummers are busy bodies, chasing each other all about the yard.

I don't know what the temp was at time pic was taken, but at 11:00 am it was 86 degrees and expected to get to 100 degrees.

I hope I get lucky and see some more hummers stopping by for awhile on their journey south. These three have been here a good while.

Flowers available for them are: Two separate plots with Turks Cap Flowers, the Turks Caps on the side of my house have been there forever and give them plenty of sweet nectar, got two areas with Tall Mexican Petunias, one in the back yard and one in the front yard, hanging basket with red Petunias and Pentas in a plant stand, Rose Mallow and Garden Phlox. I do have a huge Crape Myrtle in my front yard full of flowers.

I do have feeders out for them also and they like being able to get a lot of sweetness at one sitting. They like both flowers and their feeders.
