I've been a monarch advocate and volunteer in Minnesota for many years. I've kept records of my home-reared monarchs to this date but, after 4 straight years of declining numbers, I AM SHOCKED at the large numbers of Monarchs I'm seeing now and shocked about the numbers my friends report seeing. I'm not a scientist just someone working for their survival. Due to the huge increase in numbers in such a short period of time, I wonder if in the spring the monarchs funneled into the plains states after encountering all of the catastrophic weather calamities on the US coasts.
