Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 09/06/2023

Number: 13

Monarch Waystation #271 reports finding several stages of monarch larvae feeding on the potted Tropical milkweeds while I watered the front beds at 8:40-8:45 am today. I did not diligently search every milkweed in the beds, just glanced and didn't see any. But I did find three 2nd instars feeding on flowers and buds, nine 3rd instars resting or feeding on leaves and one newly emerged [with shed skin still attached] 4th instar on the underside of a leaf. No time for pictures, unfortunately.
