My resident male ruby throated hummingbird started his long journey south today. I saw him at 7:30am and that was the last time. I'll miss the little guy who my neighbor dubbed Marcus. Marcus had a nice weight when he left. For the past two days he was spending his time, sipping nectar and sitting on his perch. He no longer spent time chasing the other hummers. God speed little one...I sure will miss you.
