Approximately 105 monarchs seen 6:20-7:55pm before 7:50 sunset at Tip at Point Pelee National Park. Two were seen flitting high above Tip gate (near Visitor Center). On drive down none were seen at Sparrow Field or at base of tower nectaring on the plentiful Goldenrod & Woodland Sunflowers. Several were flitting about shuttle stop & tower area & on walk down to Tip over west path. At Tip area inside the woods individuals were roosted on various trees & vines. A cluster of 3 was observed on Hackberry branch over west path.
Walking back up to tower several were flitting mostly north. 7:20pm back at Tip shuttle stop several flitted about at tree tops. A cluster of 3 which grew to 4 was established in high Hackberry branch over road in front of where the shuttle stops. By 7:45 most activity stopped. Mostly cloudy & 20°c with favourable North wind @15-25 kmh. Overnight low forecast 15°c.
All that I could see were pristine except one had scratches on wing.
Observations by eye, binoculars & camera
