Not sure when the roost was formed because yesterday was my first day in that pasture in 3 weeks. The picture I posted was of one group of 10 but there were multiple groups of various sizes from 3-15 for a minimum of 80. All were in the tree lined creek that separates our alfalfa/red clover hayfield and the permanent pasture. They were in Cherry, Black Locust and Silver Maple
First noticed them around 440 (mostly active), observed them for awhile then went about my chores. Brought my daughter, mom and niece back out at 615 (mostly done flying around at this point) to see them again. It's been low 50s at night with northerly winds.
