Summit Academy in Bogart, Georgia released 155 Monarch Butterflies at our 2nd Annual Monarch Release. Each butterfly was put into an envelope so each student could release their own reared butterfly. The students learned about the importance of helping to protect and conserve this beautiful species. Prior to the release, the Summit STEM classes performed physicals on each butterfly, put a Monarch Watch tag on the butterflies, and conducted the OE parasite test. We are hopeful that our butterflies will continue their migration journey to Mexico!
