Last year (2022) I had a hayfield that I did not do a 2nd cutting on. In September it was mostly clover surrounded by white pine trees. I counted about 50 monarchs feeding over about a week and a half in September and roosting in the white pines at night. So, this year I decided to let the clover grow to see if we might be a stop on the migration path for monarch refueling on all the clover. It started with 1 monarch sited last week, today I counted 10 monarchs feeding on the clover. Will record daily counts as I see them.
