We're down to a dozen or so Rubies (from 24+ this summer), mainly juveniles, but possibly still a few adult females. They are feeding from both flowers and 11 feeders. Some flowers are fading, but we still have plenty. They are visiting Cuphea vermillionaire, porterweeed, jewelweed, Shrimp plant, Gartenmeister fuchsia, many different varieties of salvia, lots of butterfly bush, lantana, Major Wheeler's honeysuckle, and some others to a lesser degree. They are playing and chasing, but the volume is way down compared to what it had been through Saturday. Our resident adult males, as well as many of our adult females and juveniles from first nests have all headed south. God speed to all of our sweet, flying jewels. â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ Please keep feeders up and clean.
