CLUSTERS/ROOSTS! Approximately 725 monarchs seen 6:10-7:45pm before 7:43 sunset at Tip at Point Pelee National Park. About a dozen monarchs were seen flying around Sparrow Field. No monarchs seen below tower nectaring on the plentiful flowers.
Upon arrival at Tip shuttle stop clusters were already being established in two areas in Hackberry trees. First one started at 85 & by 7:20 increased to 270. The other started at 220 & increased to 250. There were numerous clusters in each area.
Walking on west path numerous monarchs were flying north high at 30' & 50' up above treetops. Observed a couple of monarchs flitting on east side down at Tip however no clusters or single individuals seen roosting.
A cluster of about 100 was observed in a Hackberry tree off west path looking east into interior trees.
By 7:30 most activity stopped. Partly sunny & 17°c with north wind @ 11 kmh. Daytime high 18°c. Overnight low 9°c.

Smallest clusters up to 35. Largest clusters 75, 75, 85, 94, 95, 125.

Most appeared pristine.
