Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/11/2023

Number: 80

We peaked at an estimated 80 Monarch caterpillars around our yard - on several species of milkweed. The first ones are starting to J up. After this, it will be impossible to get any good count of caterpillars and chrysalises. Monarch butterflies continue to come thru our yard, about one/day. I will do an update on that as of 9-14-23. We're also seeing migrating Monarchs laying eggs at other local sites - especially nurseries. Nurseries are so vital to their successful migration!
