Monarch, Captive-Reared
Sightings report image

Date: 09/14/2023

Number: 2

I found 2 “cats” on one of my swamp milkweed plants. I’ve been out of town, so I didn’t observe eggs or see them growing. I’ve brought these two inside on some of my common milkweed I washed and cut because a wasp was inside the same swamp plant where I found them foraging for them. I probably could have saved more if I had been home to check more closely. I’m assuming these are 5th gen, and I am guessing that they are 3rd or 4th instar. The pic is of just one, but they are both about the same size. Sorry for low light.
