Sightings report image

Date: 09/14/2023

Number: 2

Two monarch butterflies nectaring.

Picture taken about 6:20pm. Temperature out was 77 degrees with a slight wind 7mph from the southwest.

Plant butterflies are on is called stonecrop.

We currently have three milkweeds in back yard (where photo taken). None of the milkweeds have egg signs or notches from eating catapillers. Milk weeds are about 5 feet tall with 1-15 leaves. Only two of the Milkweeds have seed pods.

We have seen more butterflies this year than the previous two years but in past (2017-2018) we used to see up to 5-8 butterflies on a single stonecrop plant (pictures available).
