I was seeing 3 or 4 monarchs per day in my garden for the first week of September, then no visitors at all until yesterday, when I sighted this male. He nectared on the Brazilian vervain for over an hour. He fluttered over to check out the great blue lobelia, blue mistflower and zinnias, but quickly returned to the vervain. 1:40 pm, sunny and 71 degrees.
