Sightings report image

Date: 09/17/2023

Number: 8

No tail possible Rufous in photo of last nights 3 and 6 p.m. pre downpour storms trying to figure a feeder. He just now showed up at 9:30 a.m., finally on his perch guard in Desert willow tree.

Half are here of yesterdays 14 and or new incomes of mixed male rubythroats ages this morning. They started early before daylight. Showed up at 6:50 a.m to feeders with short chases. Now nectoring on all Hamelia plants as well.

I'm really glad they are moving on. It's been tough keeping feeders clean and refilling 8 feeders this fall migration back in highest heat indexes we have ever experienced. Still to be in a more comfortable early mornings of 70's after in 90's during daytime again.
