Another evening of good activity, with a flurry of arrivals at 7:00 p.m. Counted 24 butterflies in groups ranging from one to four, mostly in the silver maples and arborvitaes, but a few in the bald cypress and white pines. Almost all were on west and south facing branches from 8' to 12' off the ground.
Weather at sunset was overcast with calm winds and a temperature of 70F with rising humidity levels, as rain was expected.
Nectaring continued in earnest on the Tithonia and Zinnia flowers right up until sunset.
