Approximately 90 monarchs seen 5:45-7:45pm before 7:36 sunset at Tip at Point Pelee National Park. Upon arrival at Tip shuttle stop observed a few monarchs showing interest in clustering in same Hackberry with branch over shuttle road. Walked down west path to Tip. Weather system to the east coming in quick. Cooling off fast & wind picking up. Suddenly hundreds & hundreds of dragonflies with monarchs mixed in came flying north off the lake heading for the trees on the west side shoreline.
7pm no clusters seen at Tip.
Back to shuttle stop & a cluster of 13 monarchs with another 2 monarchs nearby already established about 30+ft up in above described tree. In light rain a few others continued to fly around shuttle stop trees & individuals settled on Hackberry & on vines.
A 2nd cluster of 14 was discovered about 30' up in interior Hackberry also at shuttle stop. By 7:30 all activity ceased.
Mostly cloudy 21°c & humid with light NNW wind @ 7/16kmh. Daytime high 21°c. Overnight low 14°c.
