Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/18/2023

Number: 2

Picture taken this Monday morning @ 9:22 am.

Nice cool start to the day, 66 degrees @ 7:14 am and 94 degrees @ 6:01 and that was the expected high for the day.

Only noticed two hummers today while they were flying about the yard after each other.

One hummer seemed to spend a lot of time @ the Turks Cap flowers at the back of my yard, I have a large group of Turks Cap on the side of my house. I'm guessing one made claim to one group of Turks Cap, while the other claimed the smaller group by the back fence.

This hummer is on the line that comes down from the electric pole, it's anchored down in the ground. We have a electric pole in our back yard.

Flowers available for the hummers are: Turks Cap flowers in two different locations in back yard, Tall Purple Mexican Petunias, one group in back yard and one group in my front yard, Rose Mallow bush, hanging basket of Red Petunias, a pot of Red Pentas sitting in a tall plant stand, Texas Five Star Hibicus, I had forgot to mention them in the most recent post, that's because they don't put out flowers daily since the hot summer heat we've had, Garden Phlox, a big Crepe Myrtle tree in the front yard and I noticed today that I have little flowers on the Clematis Vine, it produces purple flowers.
