9/19/23- Approximately 195 monarchs seen 5:40-7:40pm before 7:32 sunset at Tip at Point Pelee National Park. Upon arriving at front entrance at the Park 2 monarchs flitted about a Hackberry tree & 1 settled on a branch. On drive down to Tip at Sparrow Field observed 11 monarchs flitting about. At Tip shuttle stop there was a few flying at tree tops. No monarchs seen flying around west path. On east side of Tip on shoreline looking west there was 5 clusters established on east side of Hackberry trees; clusters of 2 to 14. In interior sheltered Hackberry trees clusters were being established; 8 monarchs increased to 12, 14 increased to 26, 3 increased to 4 & several of 2 & another with 11. There were many individuals roosting alone & several flying about.
7pm Back at shuttle stop a cluster of 5 was located.
Cloudy & 18°c. Daytime high 20°c. SW wind @8/29kmh. Overnight low 16°c.
