About 50 monarchs are roosting on our property. The monarchs are not in large clusters, but are singles or groups of 2 or 3.
They are in a group of 30' tall sassafras trees (could only be seen and counted if moved), and the lower branches of 2 adjacent tall oak trees. Others are in another area of our yard in the lower branches of a black walnut tree and a 20' oak tree.
It was difficult to see and count them since the observation was at 6:15 pm with very low light, the monarchs were still settling in, and it was starting to rain. The wind was calm and the temperature 72°.
Did not retrieve a camera for a picture because of the onset of rain.
