There is a large healthy patch of milkweed near my home. I have looked for eggs and/or caterpillars and have seen none. This is the first time this has ever happened and it is heartbreaking. I always collect one egg or caterpillar to rear in my classroom to get our young preschool students excited for “monarch magic”. My co-worker has also searched milkweed near her home with the same results.
