Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/21/2023

Number: 1

I was not able to get a photograph of the Monarch. I believe it nectared on a Texas kidneywood in my yard. It may have been a female because I think it was trying to oviposit on a young zizotes milkweed next to the kidneywood. But when I checked afterward, there appear to be many ants on the plant, and I don't think she was successful.

It is a hot sultry day, partly sunny, with temperatures in the mid-90s, occasional breeze.
