I also found 3 larvae that were left outdoors. Two were in their 5th instar when found however, I lost track of them. I couldn't find a chrysalis for those two, so I don't know how they fared. The other larvae found outdoors was in its third instar, and I watched it for 2 days before it was found dead, showing signs of trauma from either a squirrel or bird. My yard is heavily visited by birds, squirrels, and chipmunks, which is why I like to rescue as many eggs as I find, to raise them indoors. It was another rewarding, and fulfilling summer.

I've had Monarchs here every day, all summer, and on Sept 20, 2023 I had four spend most of the afternoon with me, on the butterfly bushes, and the annual milkweed, which are still in full bloom. I haven't reported sightings individually, because I have been rearing them.

Thank you, for all you do at your end to promote biocentrism and your efforts to protect the Monarchs. 🦋
