Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 09/21/2023

Number: 1

While cutting milkweed pods I came across one young larva. It was 41 degrees last evening and about 60 degrees when I found it. It was not moving. I pick some milkweed stalks and brought it in the house. It is moving about now. This butterfly will be released in the Binghamton NY area when it is ready to be released. There most likely will not be enough food for it this far north.
