Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/21/2023

Number: 1

Picture taken this Thursday evening @ 6:23 pm.

This morning the temp was 77 degrees at 6:29 am and at the time this picture as taken it was 91 degrees, that was our high for today. It's starting to cloud up outside, we've got a chance of rain later through tomorrow morning.

I didn't see any hummingbirds first thing this morning, but I did hear one. Then I seen one at the Turks Cap flowers at my back fence @ 12:28 pm. Not sure if it was the same one as in the picture or not. I thought I caught a glimpse of two in the air this evening, but not sure.

Their main source of nectar is from the two groups of Turks Cap flowers and other flowers. I do have a tiny feeder out and the common feeder that most hummers will recognize.

It looks like to me that this is an immature male, it's throat looks like it's getting it's dark feathers in. This guy is sitting up above the Turks Cap Flowers located on the north side of my house, next to a park.
