7/31/23 through 9/17/23 we have successfully released a total of 30 healthy monarchs. (We had 1 late caterpillar that is currently in chrysalis) All raised from eggs inside 3 mesh cages. The eggs and milkweed (grown in our yard) were cleaned in bleach solution. Before being released the butterflies were tested with a microscope for OE. We found no OE. All immediately caught the wind and flew south when released. Last year at this time we had released 55.
