A parade of monarchs crossed our pasture shortly after 5 p.m. today, flying southwest and not stopping since no flowers were in that pasture. I lost count while trying to photograph them, so I'm saying there were 8, but I'm sure there were more than that. They came singly--about a minute or less between them. Their flyway was a few hundred yards farther south than the flyway they used last year.
