I was vacationing in Tobermory, Canada (Ontario Province) when I netted and tagged 6 female monarchs.

I was camped at Happy Hearts Tent and RV Park. When I asked the owners if they had seen any monarch butterflies, I was told, enthusiastically, yes! On 9/15 they saw their butterfly bush totally covered with monarch butterflies.

On the day I checked the bush, monarchs were streaming in and feasting on the flowers at a fairly constant rate. The bush was not covered with the butterflies but at least there were visitors and in range for me to net. I was thrilled, of course!
