Ruby throated hummingbird on Japanese Toad Lily or Tricyrtis hirta. The migrants seem to like all flowers including Zinnias and dahlias. Residents visit only fall bloomers. Lagrestroemia indica Tonto, Caenothus delileanus Gloire de Versailles - both are not hardy for us but have survived next to the Lotus pond waterfall and have been attracting hummingbirds. Many Vitex, Solidago cultivars, Lesepedeza thunbergii as well as Silphium terebinthinaceum
are in full bloom.
