Sightings report image

Date: 09/26/2023

Number: 6

5:35-7:10 before 7:20 sunset at the Tip at Point Pelee National Park. 6 Monarchs seen flying in mostly from the west path & shoreline. They flew east into Tip trees. A few settled individually on Hackberry trees along west path. On the very windy east side one was found laying flat on the sandy shoreline. I picked him up
& brought him inland to the calm west side. He was wiggling & appeared fine & placed him on asters where he began to nectar.
No clusters located. All activity stopped by 6:45.
Mostly cloudy, 18° with very strong ENE wind @ 29/46 kmh.
Daytime high 21°.
