The last lone “eldery female” must have left my feeders on September 24th or 25th...leaving me bereft! Her “stubborn son” had lingered but left awhile ago.
On the 23rd an unfamiliar flashy hummingbird appeared at the feeder where the female was feeding with white-tipped tail feathers spread like a display...fed briefly..then they went off chasing each other. The next day I saw only the elderly female, and she fed very briefly.
Now she’s gone...
