We were touring the Kankakee Sands Nature Conservancy prairie restoration project’s greenhouse and seed growing field. Throughout the tour we saw a few monarchs. I counted five in sight at one time, but we saw several throughout the walk. Goldenrod and liatris were blooming. It was about a .75 mile walk (about an hour’s amble) over a couple of acres.
