Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers
Sightings report image

Date: 09/30/2023

Number: 1

Picture taken Saturday, Sept 30 @ 3:36 pm.

Here in Irving, TX, next to Dallas, TX and close to the DFW airport. The day started off nice and cool, 71 degrees at 6:30 am and the high was expected to get to 96 degrees. It was 95 degrees at the time I took this picture.

Today as I walked out to back yard I seen a hummingbird at some Morning Glories that have popped up all around our fence and a few other places. I heard a hummingbird during the day up in the oak tree and then seen this hummer at the Turks Cap Flowers located at the back fence. I wasn't outside much today so I'm not sure if any hummers visited the feeders or not.

I've got plenty of flowers for the hummingbirds to get nectar from and a few feeders up.

Looks like a female Ruby Throat, that's what kind of hummingbirds I see most of the time.
