Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/30/2023

Number: 3

Keeping an eye things! This is 1 of 3 ruby-throated hummers that were frequently squabbling. It was hysterical watching the aerial acrobatics through the yard, around and through the trees. Its comical how the hummers have learned to use the deck railings this year as a place to perch and watch for competition. Today the cigar flowers, purple agastache and orange agastache were the favored flowers. And lots of insect catching. High reached the low 80's with sunny skies. Forecast is hot again for Sunday. Quitting time was 6:59 p.m. central daylight time. This is the first quitting time earlier than 7:00 p.m. during the fall migration.
