Sightings report image

Date: 10/01/2023

Number: 1

Picture taken this Sunday afternoon @ 1:36 pm.

Temp this morning was nice and cool, I bet it was in the upper 60's, the expected high is suppose to be 94 degrees.

The hummingbird in this picture is at our Turks Caps located at my back fence and I can see them from my kitchen window and patio door, the larger group of Turks Caps is on the side of our house and I have to walk outside to the side of the house to see that group of Turks Cap flowers. I seen a hummingbird there off and on during the day.

Flowers available for our hummers are: Turks Cap, Tall Mexican Petunias, one group in my back and front yard, and I have the short Mexican Petunias on the front yard side of my house, Rose Mallow bush, hanging basket of red Petunias, pot of Red Pentas in a tall plant stand, vine with purple Clematis (not very many on the vine) some morning glories that have popped up on my fence, Garden Phlox, a Big Crepe Myrtle tree in my front yard. I have a Fire Bush that have lots of buds on it, some have opened up. The Fire Bush buds always open up @ the end of hummingbird season, I was told to give it plant food in early spring before you see any signs of the bush and then it would bloom sooner, I have to remember to do that.
