The 2 ruby-throated hummers that were hanging around today are probably the last of the season for us. It seems 1 of them left after 1:30 p.m. This juvenile male was the only one seen at the feeders this evening. Cigar flowers, orange agastache and purple agastache were the preferred flowers again today. It was a hot, sunny day with a high around 90°. But most feeding was on insects and nectar in feeders. Quitting time was at 6:58 p.m. central daylight time. This might be our last evening sighting. Or maybe our last report this season.
