Saw this beautiful monarch on tithonia torch "Mexican sunflowers" at 1:49 PM CDT on a sunny 82° day with calm winds. After nectaring for a few minutes went to rest in nearby pine tree. Could not see male scent spot while watching eat but spot may be visible in photo. Gardens in yard have several variety of continuous and fall blooming flowers to eat from. First monarch seen in about a month. Safe travels beautiful butterfly.
