Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/04/2023

Number: 1

Wednesday Oct 4, I spotted a hummingbird at the Turks Cap flowers that are on the side of my house, as I walked over that way, it flew up into the Bald Cypress Tree in the park. I tried to get a picture, but it wasn't having it.

At 5:30 am this morning here in Irving, it was 79 degrees and the high is expected to be 94 degrees, it think it got up to 96 degrees. Finally we got some good rain, it started around 8:30 pm and Thursday morning my rain gauge had 2 1/2 inches in it.

Flowers available for our hummers are: Turks Cap, Tall Mexican Petunias, one group in my back and front yard, and I have the short Mexican Petunias on the front yard side of my house, Rose Mallow bush, hanging basket of red Petunias, pot of Red Pentas in a tall plant stand, vine with purple Clematis (not very many on the vine) some morning glories that have popped up on my fence, Garden Phlox, a Big Crepe Myrtle tree in my front yard. I have a Fire Bush that have lots of buds on it, some have opened up. The Fire Bush buds always open up @ the end of hummingbird season.
