Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/05/2024

Number: 8

This one photo of the 8 (at least) Monarch larvae I sighted in my garden today. I have two butterfly garden areas in my yard and most of the larvae were discovered in the other milkweed area that I hadn’t checked thoroughly until today. I’m pretty sure I actually counted a total of 11 so my ‘8’ is conservative. And then I found 2 more later in the day - one in each area. Finally found one on my Arizona (Augustifolia). I’ll be checking again daily and submitting sightings. It may be difficult to identify totally new larvae. I’ll be looking for very small ones in hopes to be adding sightings of ‘new’ larvae.
