Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 10/09/2023

Number: 1

Oct. 9th is usually the last date to see any hummingbird in our garden (except last year when we saw Ruby throated and a Rufous in November). However, with warmer than normal temperatures, our garden is still in full bloom including 10 varieties of Fall blooming Salvias and the last of the perennials - Helianthus maxmillanii, Helianthus angustifolius and Helianthus salicifolius. Some self sown Calendula, Nicotiana are adding their last hurrah. Hoping the last wave of migrants will arrive this weekend with Northerly winds.
