I was very surprised to see a female or immature red throated hummingbird this afternoon, nectaring from a blue salvia. I hadn't seen any since October 2. This may have been a straggler; it was a bit nervous and I was unable to get a good photo, although I did get a video of it flitting from blossom to blossom.
