Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/12/2023

Number: 1

We have had travelers on a daily basis for awhile now. Most do not linger for more than a day or two. We have one Ruby female, not sure if she is a juvenile or adult, who has been with us for some time. She appears to be quite healthy and she has begun to interact with me. She is very cute and sweet. When I'm outside watering or tending to feeders, she comes right up to me. Today, she squeaked at me for the first time. When she first arrived, she would only nectar from the flowers, but she has begun to also feed from the feeders. We name all the ones we get to know. This little one has been named Shiloh. I pray her instinct kicks in soon. They always worry me a bit when they linger. Today, she seemed to have the whole place to herself. She makes her way around the entire yard and visits all the separate gardens. I caught her insect hunting today as well. She appears to be quite at home. :)
