I watched many monarchs migrate south over our 10-acre farm between 8:50 am and 11 am. My estimate is that 800 to 5000 flew over the farm during that period.
I've posted the midpoint of that observation.
While I had as many as 15 monarchs nectaring on other days, on no other day this fall did I see more than 15 monarchs on or above our farm.
I am a butterfly biologist. I have watched the migration through OK for the last 20 years.
