Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/05/2023

Number: 2900

I watched many monarchs migrate south over our 10-acre farm between 8:50 am and 11 am. My estimate is that 800 to 5000 flew over the farm during that period.

I've posted the midpoint of that observation.

While I had as many as 15 monarchs nectaring on other days, on no other day this fall did I see more than 15 monarchs on or above our farm.

I am a butterfly biologist. I have watched the migration through OK for the last 20 years.
