Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/14/2023

Number: 2

9:50 a.m. We saw a Monarch flying over us at treetop level. The sun shone through its wings so I’m 100% sure that’s what we saw. It was flying high and away from where we were sitting.
9:53 a.m. We saw another land on our Swamp Sunflower plant . ( photo) we assume it is a different one, but can’t be certain.
10:14a.m. Another Monarch flew in on the same Swamp Sunflower plant. Might be the same as the second one. It stayed in our field until 10:58 when I saw it fly up high in the same direction as the first one over the treetops.
While it was in our field it fed on Goldenrod but mostly the Swamp Sunflower. We never saw more than one at one time.
