I was watching songbirds ar 10 :30 a.m. and saw an adult female rubythroat sitting in desert willow tree with the juvenile doing zig zag in front of her face. She ignored juvenile.
She then ventured into patio flowers to nectar.

Just hovered the top of JB feeder lid.
That's what I mentioned they just don't go to a feeder.
